Chay Snowdon + Basement Club + The Substitutes
Thursday 15 February, 8:30 pm
Jake Buggs angrier little brother fronting a super group made up of members of Catfish & The Bottlemen, Arctic Monkeys and Queens of the Stone Age and you are getting somewhere close is how Roland Monger described Chay and his band.
Famous is the latest release from the Plymouth/Bristol based four-piece outfit has been massively well received. With Kyran Bignell on drums Liam Roberts on lead guitar, George Roach on bass and Chay Snowdon adding his unmistakably massive vocals to his self-penned tracks.
Playing BBC 6 Music Festival, Dot 2 Dot Festival, 2000 Trees, Y-Not Festival, Somerset House Summer Series and headlining The BBC Introducing Stage at Looe Music Festival to around 4000 people, as well as supporting Trampoline and The Sherlocks on their UK tours. Adding up to a massive 2016 with bigger and better things to come in 2017.
Swindon new-comers – Four piece indie band from Swindon with influences from such bands as Two Door Cinema Club, The Magic Gang and The Night Cafe.
Emerging from the dark, depths of Swindon, The Substitutes fuse bouncing bass lines, driving riffs and beatlesesque melodies kept together by a tour de force drum sound. With their catchy hooks, The Substitutes power through their set, slowing down at times, only to bring you back into the hurricane that is their sound. A band not to be missed.
