Welcome to our weekly dream sharing group based in Old town! Dreams can be strange, fun, or scary, but often they just seem difficult to understand. Whatever we dream about, we all have them and throughout history communities have come together to share their nightly adventures. In talking the dream over as a group we can all bring a new perspective and help the dreamer uncover its hidden meaning.
All approaches are welcome. No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to be open and treat one another kindly as we dive into the subconscious!
We will be discussing our most recent dreams so start keeping a journal and remember to bring it with you.
Hosted by Alex, I have a long standing interest in dreams and their interpretations.
We will be downstairs in the Victoria. Refreshments will be available to purchase upstairs at the bar.

Since forming in 2004, Oasish have taken the tribute world by storm. The attention to detail is incredible and many have hailed them as being better than the real thing!

They have performed at Wembley Stadium, The National Indoor Arena, Manchester Academy and are the only band to perform at the now world famous Glastonbudget Festival EVERY single year its been running.

The band don’t use cheap imitation copies of the real bands instruments or clothes either! The “Noel” actually uses the exact same model of guitar, a Gibson ES355, that the real Noel Gallagher plays.

Amps used are also custom made Hi Watt and vintage Fender amps to recreate that big oasis sound that became their trademark throughout the 90’s.

Oasish have performed on many big stages and at many big events and their clientele ranges from major corporate companies through to private parties for people lucky enough to book the band.

They are also no strangers to the TV screens either, having appeared on The One Show (BBC), The Gadget Show (Channel 5), Inside Out (ITV), GMTV (ITV), Sky News, The Culture Show (BBC) and numerous other broadcasts all across the television network.

They have also worked alongside big names such as Peter Kay, Jools Holland, Clint Boon (Inspiral Carpets), Dodgy and even performed with Shaun Ryder of The Happy Mondays!

Oasish also boast that they are the only oasis tribute to use a live string quartet on stage and have done this on several occasions when performing a bigger headline show at some of the many festivals they play throughout the spring/summer months.

After two successful charting albums which included versions and originals we were voted band of the 2020 year by SevernFM listeners. We’re looking forward to some stonking gigs and maybe the third album . Checkout Mainline voodoo and Mooncalf Blues on your favorite download platform and enjoy our tracks…. turn it up nice n loud !

After over 300 shows all over Europe, two studio albums, and a live album since 2017, the Swiss vintage psych-rock power trio released new next album DSM-III (March 18, 2022, on Hummus Records). TheMusic power, groove, and emotion The band’s DNA can be traced back to the ancestral ‘Golden Age of Rock’ (the 60s, 70s), but instead of copying past heroes, Dirty Sound Magnet worked hard on breaking new ground.
The band’s approach has often been compared to Led Zeppelin for their groove, energy, and instrumental virtuosity, to a more violent version of Pink Floyd and to the mysticism of The Doors. With the addition of modern psych influences (Tame Impala, King Gizzard and the Lizzard Wizard,…) and sarcastic lyrics grounded in today’s social turmoil, the DSM magic formula is complete. Live, the band is known for its kinetic performances and strong stage presence. DSM’s dynamic range goes from all-out power to moments of silence built into the music. The years of experience have taught the band to deliver solid shows night after night while leaving room for the unexpected to happen. Every show is a unique experience for the band and the crowd…the band-no PlanB.
As teenagers, Stavros (guitar, vocals), Marco(bass, backing vocals), and Maxime (drums, backing vocals) were devouring hundreds of albums while rehearsing with great intensity. This passion rapidly turned into an addiction and total dedication to their art. Years of experimentation and practice have led to the creation of the DSM sound and the DSM way of life. The plan has always been the same and it is quite simple: “There is no plan B”.The band functions as a small family business. Every day, when not on tour, the band rehearses and records new music. After the rehearsal, the three dirty friends do

Armed with unforgettable melodies and catchy choruses, The SoapGirls energy, rawness and authenticity live, has earned a formidable reputation.

Performing internationally and continuously since 2015, these fearless French born sisters Millie and Mie, have slayed critics and earned a global dedicated group of followers known as the ‘The SoapSuds’, some of who follow the band across the UK and Europe.

The SoapGirls are society’s rejects and their punk credentials were rubber stamped by scintillating performances at many festivals including the legendary Rebellion Festival and Camden Rocks festival in 2019 and such was the their success that they have inevitably been asked to perform again 2019 whilst on their current tour Sniff My Strap promoting their much anticipated latest album Elephant in the Room.

The SoapGirls write outsider anthems that are androgynous, audacious and straight from the heart. Following the release of their album Societys Rejects, the band have appeared in Classic Rock Magazine, The Mirror and Vive Le Rock, while their last two singles were played on BBC Radio and play listed by Planet Rock Radio as well as various other stations.

Fighting prejudice and haters with a sword of honesty and a shield of integrity The SoapGirls have endured much but have always risen above those that have sought to derail them. The girls shine during their exhilarating, firework-strewn live performances putting inclusivity and freedom of expression at the core of each show. They are keen to show that music should be for everyone and everyone should be free to be themselves.

Alluring, hypnotic and nonchalant The SoapGirls started their career in Cape Town performing as street artists for eight years and were given their name by the general public. “We have been The SoapGirls since we were 8 and 9 selling handmade soap and street performing for various causes, we did this 365 days of the year, for 9 years”. At twelve and thirteen they began their recording career and signed to Universal Records releasing their debut album in 2011 which topped the domestic charts.

After conquering South Africa, The SoapGirls with their thirst for knowledge and justice, wanted to broaden their musical horizons, leading them first to stages in the United States and then the UK and Europe, with a determination to fight against struggle and heartache. The SoapGirls first toured the UK in 2015, releasing their first independent well received album Calls For Rebellion, with one critic accurately calling the album “Raw, catchy, anarchistic Rock and Roll”. They then followed through with a number of hard hitting singles including Bad Bitch and Johnny Rotten, with their second album Societys Rejects once again taking them to the next level of their musical careers. 2019 saw the release of single One Way Street, building up the hype and anticipation for their long awaited 3rd Album titled Elephant In The Room released April 2019.

The pandemic hit, and while the world stood still in 2020, the fearless sisters persevered at the polar opposite, embracing 2020 and news of cancelled tours to deliver over 200 live-steamed shows and counting, taking fans on a raucous virtual worldwide tour, from country to country, theme to theme, and with not one set, costume or theme the same [view on YouTube]. Now in 2021 and with their virtual tour still in full-swing, The SoapGirls took to the idyllic beaches of Cape Town and a once-thriving beach-side entertainment venue to film ‘Heart In Bloom’, blending encapsulating choreography and cinematic visuals, to accompany hook-filled melodies, over driving musicianship. The start of what’s to come as the debut track from their long-awaited fourth album ‘In My Skin’, as they line up tours behind the scenes for once the live world rebounds.

Guitarist Mie sets the pace beautifully as she powers through each song with a certain style and grace that captivates every audience. Her biggest musical influences are Fleetwood Mac, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Heart, Nirvana, The Butthole Surfers and R.E.M and prefers more chilled out melancholy music.

Bass player Millie is a fan of heavier music from acts like Alice in Chains, Marilyn Manson, The Smashing Pumpkins, Korn, Alanis Morrissette, Hole, Aretha Franklin, Nirvana, Napalm Death and L7. This is evident in her performance as she connects and hypnotizes the crowd.

Both Millie and Mie swap vocal duties giving them scope to show their individual nature in a way that adds to The Soap Girls dynamic. Their common ground is grunge, but their ethic is punk. What’s in a genre anyway? It’s all music at the end of the day.

The SoapGirls remind us that music can still be straight to the point, efficient, honest and exciting, so brace yourself for The SoapGirls’s next chapter.

If being controversial means being consummate professionals, playing great original songs to an appreciative audience and treating everyone with respect then The Soap Girls must be at the front of the pack.– Devolution Magazine
