Tragedy: All Metal Tribute to the Bee Gees & Beyond

“Tragedy rocks sweet balls and can do no wrong! They are great fun!”
Bruce Dickinson, Iron Maiden

Tragedy Bio

Tragedy takes disco, soft-rock and pop classics, and completely reimagines them as glorious, red-hot heavy metal. They’re sure to get your head bangin’, your booty shakin’ – and put a smile on your face and your fist in the air.

Tragedy’s concept, while subversive and humorous, goes beyond what many have done in satirical music – they celebrate the soul of the original song, even while turning the soundscape on its head. The amps are cranked to eleven, but the emotion is not lost. You discover new meaning in songs that have been a part of your life for as long as you can remember. You laugh and cry. Dance and mosh. And feel newly connected to the disco-metal that was inside you all along.

Tragedy does not lazily rely on the concept or “the joke”. The band plunges deep – blazing musicianship, tantalizing riffs and stunning vocals. All except for Lance the towelboy. He’s just an idiot.

Born out of the impenetrable divide of Disco and Metal, this group of New York City brothers fearlessly obliterated the truce line that had been set in the great Disco/Metal Peace accord of 1977 when they seamlessly blended the two genres with their debut album, We Rock Sweet Balls and Can Do No Wrong – a collection of Bee Gees songs redone in a heavy metal treatment reminiscent of Judas Priest, Motley Crue and Guns N Roses. Since then, they have crisscrossed the globe with their spectacular live shows, storming across the USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France and Switzerland. On subsequent full length albums, Humbled By Our Greatness, Death To False Disco Metal, The Solo Albums, The Joy of Sex, Tragedy Goes to the Movies and #1 Christmas Holiday Party Mix, Tragedy spread their glittered wings to take on non-Bee Gees classics from the disco era, soft rock anthems and party jams. In 2015, Tragedy broke the internet with a viral video featuring their take on You’re the One That I Want from the Grease soundtrack. In 2017, Tragedy’s video for Stayin’ Alive broke the internet once again. In 2019, two albums hit the NACC Heavy Top 10 charts.

In 2021, Tragedy signed a worldwide record deal with Napalm Records. The first album with Napalm was Disco Balls to the Wall, released date July 2021. It hit the top 10 in Hard Rock/Metal charts in Europe and the US. I Am Woman was released in March 2023, with six consecutive weeks on the NACC top 20.

Tragedy consistently tours North America, UK & continental Europe, having toured with Steel Panther, Nanowar of Steel and Electric Six. Tragedy has headlined festival stages of events such as SXSW (USA), CMJ (USA), Musikfest (USA), Bloodstock (UK), Rebellion (UK), Summer Breeze (Germany), Foudrock (France), Motocultor (France), ParkPop (Belgium), Glastonbudget (UK), Legends of Rock (UK), Belladrum (UK) and Hammerfest/Hard Rock Hell (UK).

Tragedy has changed the face of music forever. The world will never be the same.

CREATURE CREATURE’S BANGARANG UK TOUR 24 HITS SWINDON!

Hot off the release of ‘The Noise’ EP (recorded by Billy Lunn of The Subways & mixed by Tommy from Feeder), Creature Creature hit the road for an extensive and first U.K. headline tour.

With some awesome special guests to be announced, come down for one incredible night!

A note from Scully (frontman/lyricist):
Creature Creature’s Bangarang Tour 24 – at ****ing last. After the pandemic annihilated our first ever tour which should have followed the release of our debut album ‘Two Finger Tantrum’ back in 2020, the damage caused took a while to recover from. We spent that wounded time gradually rebuilding, rebranding, reinvigorating and writing our best damn songs to date. In 2024, we are finally in a position to both release these songs to the masses in the form of ‘The Noise’ EP, and hit the road to show just how passionate we are in their live delivery. Brace yourselves, this year, months upon months of pent up passion will unleash itself on a stage near you. Let Creature Creature transport you to a place where the mainstream are quaking in their boots at the resurgence of alternative music as the driving force capturing the nation’s attention.

Scream your reasons and make them hear!

SCREAMING DEAD

Screaming Dead are a punk rock band from Cheltenham formed in 1980, who have often been characterized as “horror punk”. They released several singles and EPs with indie chart success, before splitting up in 1985. They reformed in 1997, disbanded again in 1999, and reformed with three original members in 2014. This line-up toured the East Coast of the USA in 2018.

Screaming Dead have been an inspiration to many bands in the Horror/Punk/Goth genre. Simply put, they are unique, genuine and full of energy, there really is nothing Dead about the Dead….

Paul Andrews, a British singer better known by his stage name Paul Di’Anno, his nearly half-century-long career began explosively with Iron Maiden, when with the EP ‘The Soundhouse Tapes’, and the albums ‘Iron Maiden’ and ‘Killers ‘ forever cemented the foundations of heavy metal. With timeless hits like ‘Iron Maiden’, ‘Remember Tomorrow’, ‘Running Free’, ‘Phantom of the Opera’, ‘Killers’, ‘Wratchild’, Murders in the Rue Morgue’, ‘Purgatory’ etc., they influenced numerous musicians and bands and were responsible for the creation or development of many subgenres in metal music.

Paul is known as one of the most productive singers, who has a huge number of albums and other releases behind him, either as a solo artist or a member of bands such as Gogmagog, Di’Anno’s Battlezone, Praying Mantis, Killers, Rockfellas, Architects of Chaoz or Warhorse. In all his incarnations, Paul always knew how to find a way to the fans, with numerous hits, uncompromising singing, which is confirmed by his successful career and furious live shows around the world.

For the last eight years, Paul faced serious health problems that almost ended his career, but thanks to his loyal fans and his strong will to overcome the disease, Paul is on a big world tour again, and he recorded a new album with the group Warhorse. This icon of heavy metal with the heart of a punk rock rebel never spared himself in his life, but he always gave everything for music and fans, which is why they have followed him faithfully for almost fifty years.

Credo were once described as “The best progressive rock band you’ve never heard of.”  With the the release of their third album – Against Reason – and the critical acclaim of  their last two releases – studio album Rhetoric and Live CD/DVD This is What We Do – Credo are certainly changing the ‘never heard of’ bit.  Now celebrating over 20 years recording and playing, it seems odd to say that Credo’s recent rise has been ‘meteoric’, but it is safe to say that Credo have now come to maturity, producing powerful, melodic and lyrically challenging rock music – on record and on stage – and have become one of the leading lights of the European progressive rock scene..

Early Days

Credo’s earliest roots can be traced back to the mid ‘70s when Tim Birrell (guitar) and Jim Murdoch (bass) took their first steps in the music business together in Scotland. Sadly, success eluded the talented duo and their original band split up and members dispersed across the UK.

Many years later the pair decided to give it another go and recruited gifted lyricist and keyboard player Mick Stovold, followed by Paul Clark on drums.  Mark Colton eventually joined the, as yet un-named, band in 1992, having been spotted charismatically fronting cult legends Casual Affair.

The band played their first live show in Aldershot in April 1992 as Ad Hoc, temporarily changing their name to Chequered Past before ditching all-comers to settle on ‘Credo’ in 1993.

Field of Vision

Credo released their debut album – Field of Vision – in 1994, to some success in the UK and Neo Prog strongholds across Europe. The whole album was recorded and mixed in four days. Despite its acknowledged shortcomings, the songs were lyrically and melodically strong and well-received live. The original intention was just to sell the album at gigs on cassette, but UK label Cyclops approached the band, signed them up and released the album on CD shortly after.

Extensive touring followed, when suddenly Mick Stovold decided to leave the band. His replacement, Mike Varty(Landmarq, Shadowland, Janison Edge, Mick Pointer’s Marillion / Script For A Jesters Tour), marked the emergence of the Credo we hear today.

Rhetoric

The band immediately set to work on a second album in 1999, but following a horrific run of bad luck, ill health and assorted disasters, few people expected the new album to see the light of day; or even to see Credo on a stage again.  However, improved circumstances, a new drummer in Martin Meads and a lot of hard work and determination eventually resulted in Credo releasing their second album Rhetoric in 2005 – exactly 11 years to the day after their debut! The album was engineered and produced by Mike Varty; mixed by Mike and Karl Groom at Thin Ice Studio and released on the F2 label.

Rhetoric was exceptionally well-received, gaining universal praise, and is rightly viewed as a giant leap forward for the band from their debut CD.

What became the almost never-ending “Rhetoric On The Road” tour kicked off with the band playing their first gig in 6 years, bottom of the bill at a long-forgotten three band show in Reading. Mark’s well-documented health issues in particular led to the band and their loyal following all being very nervous about the return to the stage. But the gigs really showcased the new maturity of the music, together with Credo’s traditionally blistering live presence.

The widespread acclaim and numerous plaudits for Rhetoric that followed led to a string of prestigious gigs, awards and unexpected opportunities. In particular, Credo brought the house down in the USA at ROSFEST 2008 and PROGFARM in Holland, with a short tour with Blind Ego to follow.

This Is What We Do

Finally, the Rhetoric Tour culminated in a fabulous show in Katowice, Poland that was released as a double live album and DVD – This is What We Do.  With this release, Credo really consolidated their reputation as an exciting and powerful live act.

Against Reason

Credo’s new album – Against Reason – was released on 11 April 2011. Once again produced by Mike Varty and released on the F2 label, the album is launched with extensive live dates in the UK and abroad.

Against Reason demonstrates a more intricate feel, lyrical challenges, fuller soundscapes and powerful melodies. The lead track from the album – Staring at the Sun – has already caused a stir amongst those who have had the chance to hear it.

2011 looks set to be a very exciting year for the band therefore and, once again, Credo are expecting to surprise, with a challenging and powerful 3rd album, a greater confidence and a cracking new live set.

In April 2012, drummer Martin Meads left the band and has been replaced by Gerald (Mully) Mulligan.

The Peloton is the group of riders in a bike race. To preserve energy, each rider takes it in turn to ride from the front and speed the peloton along, there is no ‘leader’ as such.
So using that as an analogy for a band and to quote Aristotle, ‘The whole is greater than the sum of its parts’. Pretentious, nous?
There, I’ve said it now, please don’t ask me again! 😉
We promise you that there will be no “Sex on Fire”, I am not “Mr Brightside”, and we will not “Predict a riot”. You need to go to ANY other gig in town to hear those… There will be no monster coming over a hill, and, not that we have anything against him personally, Ed Sheeran will not be in attendance. Neither will Coldplay. As it’s not the Summer of ’69, nor will Bryan Adams. And no, we DON’T DO SKA, plenty of bands around doing that better than us. Possibly 😉
We will however be playing 40 or so songs that you do know (but may have forgotten). And probably some you definitely do know, don’t like and wish you could forget, but we can’t please everyone, sorry.

A Tribute to The Human League : Love Distraction – formerly Dare

Love DistrAction
Utilising a clever mixture of live synthesizers and guitar, this truly accurate, authentic, dedicated and genuine tribute act captures the exact mood, essence and feel of The Human League. The band consists of Nic Price who delivers an uncannily accurate vocal portrayal of the mighty Phil Oakey, Nick Stylianides – Musical Director, programmer and live keyboards plus Russ Harvey – programmer, keyboards and live guitar.
There are also a small group of talented professional singers and artists taking on the roles of Susan Sully and Joanne Catherall. Formed in August 2017, they have enjoyed rapid success, playing an impressive mixture of shows all over the UK.
Known for their ability to sound exactly like the iconic 80s group, Love Distraction’s attention to detail and musicianship is the reason why many are already referring to them as the UK’s premier tribute to The Human League. There may be other bands who look the part, but Love Distraction is as true as it gets to the real thing, with their captivating concert style show, guaranteed to bring back special memories, keeping you fully entertained and mesmerised from the time they walk on stage, right through to their breathtaking finale.
